Why We Built VIVA

This app was born from a real emergency.

It was 2 in the morning. My husband said he felt light-headed — and then he collapsed. He had a history of heart attacks. I was panicking. I didn't know the emergency number. I couldn't speak the language.

Is my medical information safe?
Yes. VIVA uses bank-grade AES-256 encryption — the same standard used by financial institutions — to protect your medical data at rest and in transit. Your data is never sold to anyone. Ever.
What if I don't have cell service?
Your medical card is cached on your phone and works offline — no signal required to display it to a doctor. Emergency calling and family alerts do require a cell or WiFi connection.
What languages does VIVA translate to?
At launch in Panama, VIVA fully supports English and Spanish — the two languages that matter for expats and local operators there. As VIVA expands to additional countries, new language pairs are added by configuration. No app update required for you.
How does the AI translation actually work?
After the 10-second countdown, a brief screen confirms emergency services are being dialed. Once you're connected to the dispatcher, speak normally in English — the AI translates your words to Spanish for the dispatcher in real time. When the dispatcher speaks back in Spanish, you hear it in English. The translation runs continuously in both directions for the entire call. Neither party needs to do anything differently from a normal phone call.
Does it work outside of Panama?
Phase 1 is Panama — that's the full focus for Q1 2027 launch. If you trigger VIVA outside Panama before additional countries go live, the app dials the local emergency number and displays your medical card, but the private dispatch network and full AI translation bridge are Panama-specific at launch. New countries launch with the same full experience as Panama — we'll notify you when your region goes live.
When does billing start?
The app launches Q1 2027. If you subscribe today, your billing starts at launch — not now. Your first month is free as a founding member.
Do I need to be tech-savvy?
Not at all. If you can tap a button, you can use VIVA in an emergency. We designed it for the moment you are panicked, frightened, and not thinking clearly — one tap is all it takes.
